In my opinion, it's all about the way one views the value of a skilled performance. There is a similar issue about whether athletes who earn gold medals at ParaOlympics are RS gold considered more prestigious as compared to those who win gold medals from Olympics. ParaOlympics participants had to overcome physical disabilities in order for them to be awarded the medal. However, to decrease the significance of someone who won the gold medal is unjust, as he also had to overcome other physically fit athletes to win the gold medal.
I'm curious to hear what other opinions about this question, since it seems to me that pf2p's who get a skillcape are treated like 'gods' ("OMG YOU GOT A SKILLCAPE) and those who receive the OSRS buy gold same skillcape are given a pat on their heads ("Oh you have a skillcape. How cute. What's the next one?
