If actions speak louder than words, Jimmy Haslam doesn't
seem to be a patient man. But maybe the owner has
changed. Two years after paying informing his franchise
to draft -- only to have a hobo convince Haslam that --
the team drafted another quarterback. This time, the
Browns waited until the third round to take former USC
Trojan Cody Ke sler. But unlike seasons past, Haslam
jersey">Rick Nash Men Jersey will let the men he
hired to run his football team do their jobs. And that
includes first-year coach Hue Jackson, who has an impre
sive history when it comes to developing
quarterbacks."His track record's been pretty good,''
Haslam said of Jackson, via 's Mary Kay Cabot. "You all
understand as well as we do the importance of that
position. You just look at the teams that are really good
in the and for the most
Tie
Domi Jersey part they're really good at that
position."I think we have a head coach who understands
talent at that position but equally as important how to
coach them. You're all at practice, and he's coaching the
quarterbacks hard every day, and I think that'll make a
difference over a period of time." There's also no rush
to get Ke sler on the field. The expectation is that ,
who signed a two-year deal this spring, will start the
season under center, and will back him up.Of course, on a
team with myriad needs -- including a gaping hole at
franchise quarterback -- some fans and media wondered why
the Browns would trade out of the No. 2 pick, where they
could have had Carson Wentz (who was taken by the ).
Jackson wasted little time trying to a suage

sler almost completed 68 percent of his pa ses," he said
. "The guy has had a tremendous career. I understand
where everybody is coming from, but you've got to trust
me on this one. This is a guy that we feel very
comfortable with, and we think he's going to have an
opportunity to ascend. And this draft was about more
than a third-round quarterback. The Browns moved around
the draft board, and when it was over they had taken 14
players this year, in addition to the two first- and
second-round picks they'll have in 2017."We got a lot of
players,'' Haslam pointed out. "When you count the
defensive back ( ) we got from Miami in a trade , we got
15 players and I think what's equally important is that
we positioned ourselves well for the next two drafts, so
we're excited."Perhaps more noteworthy: Everyone in the
organization was on the same page, which isn't something
we've been able to say in recent years. "The most
important thing, and we had several more
women-jersey">Michael Grabner Women Jersey members
of our broader family here, is that we all noted just how
well everybody worked together,'' Haslam said. "The
chemistry was good. There was lots of debate, vigorous
healthy debate but the group worked together extremely
well, that's what made us feel best."They followed the
proce s, they followed the plan and time will tell how
good our draft is. You guys have seen a lot of drafts and
some are rated high and don't' end up so well and vice
versa. But we felt good how everybody worked together and
how they followed the proce

plan."There aren't much in the way of expectations for
the Browns to suddenly turn things around in 2016, but if
Haslam allows the front office and coaching staff to lay
the groundwork for change, that's a great start.
